Time Lapse

Probably one of the coolest nature documentary scenes is a big huge time lapse, where an entire forest turns from green to red, or the sun and moon become a streak across the sky. Well, I can't do that, but I can do much shorter time lapses of say, five hours. I found a program in the apple app store called (surprise surprise) "Time Lapse" for a whopping $1.99. Wow. Well, it works, but it can be annoying. I'll post some videos once I have them, but meanwhile I would be thrilled to get suggestions for cool time lapses.

Ideas I had:
Ice melting
Chalk drawing with a big group over hours
Morning blooming flowers opening closing
Clouds
Sunrise/sunset
Evaporating water
Tides
